Our Fourth of July

These pictures uploaded backwards...so it starts at the fireworks! We had a great Fourth of July this year. We decided we weren't going to travel anywhere, but just celebrate here in Kaysville. We started the day off at the city parade which was quite a step up from the Honeyville parade we've been used to! The kids loved the sirens of the police and fire trucks, and of course the candy and prizes they threw! After the parade, the city water fight began! People brought huge containers of water and super-soakers, and the city sent out the fire trucks and any other vehicles they had to spray the crowd with water. We thought we would be innocent bystanders, but found out the hard way that those trucks can spray really far!!! (Hence the picture of poor drenched Alex crying!) We came home for our own little Bar-B Que, complete with caramel popcorn, and had a relaxing afternoon. Later, we went over to the festivities where the town had set up several bow up slides and toys for the kids to play on, (free of charge :)) and some vendor booths. Ethan found a little girlfriend that he played with all afternoon. It was so cute to see him walking around with a little girl, and waiting in lines with her. They even decided to play the gladiator game together! (see picture above) We set up our blanket for fireworks, and played with sparklers until dark. The fireworks display was great complete with Neil Diamond and Lee Greenwood, (what would the Fourth be without these two?). This was a wonderful and relaxing Fourth, and we loved it!!!
